Term 1 Tuesday
2 February—Thursday 1 April NO HAT NO PLAY Please remember, during Term 1 all children must wear sunhats and sunblock while outside during breaks. The school fees for 2010 will be as follows: 1. Each trip/show to be paid for as it happens 2. School donation (voluntary) 1 child $40 Family $60 This pays towards computers, curriculum resources, playground equipment, classroom consumables, paper, photocopying. This can either be paid as a lump sum or term by term. As in past years, if you have difficulty in paying, please contact me. If you wish to pay directly by internet banking, just phone the school office for the Bank Account number. PEANUT ALLERGIES We have several children with severe and life threatening allergies to nuts at our school. If some of these children come into contact with nuts or nut products, even by touching some nut residue left on surfaces, they can have a life threatening allergic reaction. The school needs to take every practical precaution to avoid a severe reaction and keep these children safe. It would be a huge help to us if children did not bring peanuts, peanut butter, cashew nuts and nutella sandwiches as well as muesli bars containing nuts to school. You can access all school information via our school website: www.titahibay.school.nz If your child is going to be away from school or you need to leave a message at the office please remember that we have a school cellphone—number 027-757-0272. At times during the year you may have a concern about your child or something within their class. It is really important you come to school to discuss this. A problem shared early is a problem halved. The first person you need to see is your child’s class teacher. Please note that school hours are from 9am to 3pm. We would ask parents to ensure that children are at school by 8.50am so that they are ready to start school at 9am sharp. We do not expect any child at school before 8.30am and after 3.00pm. If you wish after school care with the Bay Kids Club, please phone Eileen Holmes on 236-6582. If for any reason your child will not be attending school on a particular day/s please phone the school office. Thank you once again to everybody who supported our Christmas raffle last year by donating goodies. The following are the winners of the raffle:
1st T.
Warren Throughout the year, classes often walk to local amenities, e.g. library, park, local schools, etc. Individual permission forms are not sent home for these visits. However, if you have any objections to your child participating, please contact us (the office). If we do not hear from you we will assume consent has been given. This will take place on February 18 between 5.00pm—6.30pm. This is a chance to meet your child’s teacher. More information coming out soon. LIFE EDUCATION TRUST Harold will be visiting our school from February 8—19. The cost will be covered by the Board of Trustees.
